A brief report of the activity :
On 29/2/2020 Marathi Bhasha Din was celebrated in the form of One Day National Literary Seminar for Students(Inter-collegiate), Staff and as well as Belgaum Literature loving public. It was very special program with variety of presentations on Literature, Music and folk playwrite. Mr. Krushnat Khot, Kolhapur a well known novelist in Marathi was the Chairman, Dr. Somnath Komarpant, Goa, as inaugurator, Shri Sevantilal Shah, President, SKE Society, Mr. Anil Ajgavkar, a well known journalist and expert in foreign affairs, Shri. Vinayakrao Ajgaonkar, Secretary, SKE Society, Dr. Gomtesh Patil, Kolhapur, a well know Critic in Marathi were present as chief guests and Chairpersons of various Sessions of this particular seminar. Mrs. Sangeeta Bandekar, a well known Artist in singing & Alumni of Department was a resource person for the session on presenting Marathi Culture through melodious singing forms of various types of Marathi poetry like Ovi, Abhang, Bharud, Goulan, Lokgeet, Natyageet, Bhavgeet etc.
This particular one day seminar had four sessions in total. In the inaugural session we had organized a special program called ‘Warakari Dindi’ (वारकरी दिंडी) from the college main gate to the K.M.Giri hall. “Marathi Literature from its roots..” a inaugural speech by Dr. Somnath Komarpant, & ‘Meet the Author; Novelist Mr. Krushnat Khot’ (लेखक तुमच्या भेटीला!) in the Ist session. Mr. Khot pointed out his own journey as a writer and today’s surroundings and its reality, also he spoke on the responsibility of a writer which is getting more stressful day by day. In the second session Mrs. Sangeeta Bandekar-Kulkarni performed (मराठी संस्कृती दर्शन : विविध काव्यप्रकार). Which followed by folk dances (मराठी लोकनृत्य लावणी) by our students of Arts & Commerce. After the lunch break in the afternoon Dr. Gomtesh Patil on the topic “What is Waganatya?” and then followed the Vagnatya (Folk-Drama) ‘Vichcha Mazi puri kara’ (वगनाट्य – विच्छा माझी पुरी करा)directed by Shri. Parasu Gavade, Chandagad. The Fourth Session was chaired by Mr. Shevantilala Shah, president of SKE Society, and main speaker was Mr. Anil Ajgaonkar. All the successful students in various competitions and certificate courses were felicitated and also the thirty Varkari invited people from the villages Kinaye and Bastawad were also felicitated.In the beginning of the seminar Dr. Smt. Shobha Naik welcomed the gathering and gave introductions of all the invited dignitaries. Dr. Smt. Sarojni Cougule and student Ms. Madhuri Bagve did comparing in the second session. 300 people including students and staff took benefit of this heart whelming program. GSS college, Gogte College, MM Arts & Com. College, Khanapur attended the seminar.
