ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

            Any student who has passed PUC-II/10 + 2 Science, Arts or Commerce OR Equivalent Courses like Govt recognized 2-year job-oriented Diploma courses or Polytechnic Diploma of 3 years duration.

ABOUT BBA COURSE

It is a employment oriented terminal course and also to encourage entrepreneurship and self employment.

BBA graduates eligible for MBA, M.Com, M.A(Eco), Chartered Accountant, Cost & Works Accountancy, Company Secretary Courses and also for competitive exams like IAS, IPS, KAS, KPSC and others.

COURSE STRUCTURE

Six subjects taught in each semester with 50 hours of interactive class-room teaching per subject. Following activities are made integral part of BBA programme.

EVALUATION

There is no minimum for internal assessment marks

The minimum for semester-end University examinations is 32 out of 80 marks for theory papers and 16 out of 40 marks for practical examinations.

To Pass, a student must secure at least 40% in each subject (both theory & practical) inclusive of internal and semester-end University examination marks and 40% in Project Work evaluation and viva-voce.

The award of classes to the BBA degree will be based on the aggregate marks obtained in all the semesters including project report and viva voce and languages.

The award of classes is as follows (based on aggregate marks)

            40% to 49% marks                  : Pass class

            50% to 59% marks                  : Second class

            60% to 69% marks                  : First class

            70% and above                       : First class with Distinction

First three Ranks will be awarded by the University to successful candidates on the basis of aggregate marks of all semester marks including language and project work.

Medium of Instruction shall be English only.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO NEXT CLASS:

There is a carry over system and a student has to complete the course within 6 years from the date of admission to the course.

FACILITIES IN THE INSTITUTE

PREMISES

            College has newly built premises, which has state of the art facilities.

LIBRARY

The library is one of the finest that any college campus in Belgaum possesses. Housed in an imposing building, it caters to the need of the students and staff.

            The library has a large collection of over 80,000 books in almost all major disciplines. It is computerized with internet facility and provides students with quick access to books and resources of the library.

PLAYGROUND

            The campus has a large playground covering nearly 6 acres. The ground has a cricket pitch, a Kho-Kho court, and is suitably marked for hockey, football and athletics.

OPEN AIR THEATRE

            A large open-air theatre that can accommodate over 800 students is the central point of cultural activities in the campus. The society actively promotes and encourages students to participate in elocution and debates, music, dance and drama. All this will help students to develop social and communication skills and lead to well formed and well adjusted personality.

CAREER GUIDANCE AND PLACEMENT

            The society’s colleges have a Career Guidance Cell which provides information to students regarding employment opportunities available. They also help students to identify suitable jobs and job profiles.

            The college is on the list of leading companies’ like Infosys, Wipro, Tata Consultancy Services, Fidility Investments, Larson & Toubro, ICICI, etc. for campus interviews. Our students are invited for campus interviews and many have been selected for jobs at these companies.

CANTEEN

Canteen facility is provided in the campus for the convenience of students and staff. The canteen serves hygienically prepared eatables and refreshments.

HOSTEL FACILITIES

Separate Hostel facilities with clean lodging and sanitation are available for boys and girls who are not residents of Belgaum. Admission to the hostels is subject to availability of vacant rooms.

TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Activities of the course begin with an Orientation Programme. This will equip the students to understand each other in right perspective and helps to explore the potential, strength & weakness of each one of them. So that they can increase the level of self confidence and come out of inhibitions to get groomed into an all round and all acceptable personality. Group discussions, quiz, role-play, creativity games build the team spirit among them which will be a platform to unfold leadership qualities.

Modern Audio Visual Aids are used for handling the regular classroom sessions. Periodical presentations by students, in basket exercises, industrial visits, interface with successful entrepreneurs make the learning by themselves. Importance is given to experimental learning, contemporary methodologies like computer simulation, group and individual projects, case studies and interaction with successful business leaders are employed
