On the occasion of Premchand Jayanti, the Department of Hindi of RPD College, organized a function to commemorate the great hindi novelist and short-story writer Shri Premchand on the 1st of August 2016. The chief guest of the function Smt. Jayashri Anchi Senior faculty, Hindi Department, Maratha Mandal College, Belagavi, highlighted the life and works of Premchand. She further stated that his work is relevant even in today’s world. His portrayal of social problems in a realistic style brought about a social awareness in regard to these issues. The principal Dr. Smt. S. P. Surebankar along with the chief guest garlanded the portrait of Shri. Premchand.
Dr. R. J. Powar, head of the department of hindi, welcomed the gathered. Prof. V. V. Patil, department of hindi, introduced the chief guest. Two students, Daneshwari Kumbhar and Krishnakumari, gave a short speech on the literature of Premchand. Vote of thanks was given by Dr. Ajeet Koli.
