An initiative of Department of Commerce. A bridge course on Basics of Computer was conducted for the students of B.Com-I. The course was conducted to make the students familiar with computer and provide them basic practical knowledge. The intention of the course was to prepare students for the subject “Computer Applications in Business-I” for 2nd semester. Each batch consisted of 45 students. The duration of the course was 6 hours per batch. The course covered the following topics:
- Introduction to Computer Hardware
- Booting process of Computer
- Introduction to the desktop and icons
- Basic typing
- Paint Application (to handle mouse and navigate through the desktop)
- Notepad (to make the students learn to create, edit and save documents)
- Shortcut Keys to perform various tasks using only keyboard.
