A brief report of the activity : The department organized a special guest lecture on the topic “Goods and Service Tax (GST)” Sri. Rajendra Joshi, a practicing chartered accountant, tax consultant was the guest speaker. He delivered a customized lecture suitable for BA and B.Com final year students in order to make them understand the basics of GST. He began his lecture taking a historical of view of indirect taxation in India. He explained the calculation part of GST, the various prevailing slabs, CGST/SGST, the problems in implementation and the future of GST. As many as 31 students of B.Com and BA final year as well as staff of Arts and Commerce were benefited by this lecture.
