Patil,<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Pooja Nagare<\/p>\n<p><strong>A brief report of the activity:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The English Department arranged Guest Lectures on \u201cWord Stress and Intonation\u201d by Prof. Roopa Samant. The first lecture focused on introduction to phonetics, concept of stress and intonation. The use of intonation in spoken English was taught through practical examples and students practiced intonation. In the second lecture the concept of word stress and syllabification was explained.
